As a mental health counselor, I firmly believe that “not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” I am dedicated to creating a safe space for you to be vulnerable and sit with your experiences. As you lead the journey, I am here to offer the unconditional compassion, validation, and acceptance that you deserve. While therapy may be difficult and uncomfortable at times, it is often in these moments that we experience the most meaningful change. I aim to create an environment where you can develop a true, authentic self; one that serves as a safe base for exploring your true self.
I provide a collaborative and affirming approach to therapy that utilizes evidence-based practices, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy, with humanistic and existential frameworks. We will focus on acceptance, meaning-making, and take a holistic view of the individual. I work to help you change your relationship with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, identify your values, and take committed actions toward your goals. Since these therapy approaches are not one-size-fits-all, I will tailor my treatment to meet your specific needs and celebrate and build upon your existing strengths.
I have experience working with clients from different age groups and diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds seeking therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, bipolar disorder, work stress, relational/family conflict, and multicultural and identity issues. I am bilingual in English and Mandarin, thus clients who wish or need therapy in Mandarin are welcome.
I trained and received my Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. I also hold a Bachelor’s in Applied Psychology with a minor in Global and Urban Education Studies from New York University.
