Pamela Venegas
Seeking therapy is an act of courage, and I’m committed to supporting you every step of the way. I help clients untangle painful relationship patterns, heal from past experiences, and reconnect with a grounded sense of self. My approach brings together insight-driven exploration and practical, evidence-based strategies so that you can understand where your patterns come from and feel empowered to create real change in your life.

For many of my clients, therapy becomes a space to explore why certain relationships feel overwhelming, why boundaries feel difficult to hold, or why old wounds continue to shape current emotions. Healing isn’t just about “feeling better;” it is about reclaiming your voice, strengthening your emotional resilience, and learning to move through the world with more clarity and self-trust.

I am EMDR-trained and blend trauma-focused work with CBT and Schema Therapy to support clients in processing unresolved experiences, shifting longstanding patterns, and developing the emotional tools needed for meaningful growth.

As a first-generation immigrant, I bring a culturally grounded perspective to this work, understanding how complex family histories, expectations, and transitions can shape emotional patterns. As a bilingual psychotherapist, I offer sessions in both English and Spanish. I earned my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The City College of New York, previously worked in psychiatric and correctional settings in Mexico, and taught undergraduate psychology courses at CUNY. Together, these experiences have strengthened my commitment to education, empowerment, and trauma-informed care.
