Hillary Berko

I believe therapy is an invaluable investment in ourselves for self-exploration, healing, and growth. Whether delving into our inner landscapes or confronting external obstacles directly, my aim is to meet you exactly where you are. I adjust my techniques to suit your needs, cultivating a safe, judgment-free space where we can forge an individualized therapeutic bond, rooted in genuine understanding and personal development.
With a multicultural background, I can understand and advocate for diverse populations through a social justice lens. I recognize the significance of early intervention strategies and the importance of acknowledging and assisting you through vulnerable moments in rebuilding self-esteem, hope and living a fulfilling life - it is never too late.

I provide integrative counseling services for all ages, blending client-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational approaches. In this therapeutic alliance, we harmoniously explore experiences, develop coping skills and nurture personal growth in a supportive environment. My goal is to hold an open, compassionate space that allows your full, authentic self-expression. From a place of radical honesty, we can embark on deeper introspective journeys and arrive at new insights to help you navigate life's challenges with more resilience and self-awareness.

Previously, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the College of Staten Island and a minor in Linguistics. However, I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University. With this educational foundation and other work experiences I have, I aim to bring a well-rounded perspective to my therapeutic approach in the Mental Health Counseling field.

My practice assists clients across a broad spectrum of concerns including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, relationships, grief, communication skills, life transitions, trauma and more. Feel free to openly share your unique experiences as I provide a compassionate and cultivating space, to authentically explore and embrace your multifaceted identities in this therapeutic relationship.
