My goal as a therapist is to put your safety and wellbeing at utmost priority and provide a comfortable and safe space to allow you to share your thoughts and feelings. As your therapist I will provide you with the guidance and resources you need to be successful, and together we will work on eliminating bridges that set you back from being your best self.I incorporate an eclectic approach that is modified based on the client’s needs. Examples of the theories and techniques I intend to use in my approach are psychodynamic, multicultural, mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Additionally, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Baylor University, where I served as a Mental Health and Wellness Peer Mentor and worked as an interfaith fellow for the Bobo Spiritual Life Center. I am currently completing my Master's in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling through the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University. Prior to starting at the Soho Center, I worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist. I have experience working with adults with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, self-harm and eating disorders.I am fluent in English and Urdu, with working knowledge in Spanish.
